INGREDIENTS

                 1/2cup ---- Vegetable oil or to taste

                 ½kg ------ prawns, shelled, and cleaned

                 ½cup ----- rice flour

                ½tbs-------- turmeric (haldi) powder

               1tbs ---------------- cumin (jeera) seeds and cumin powder

                2 ------------------ green chillies, slit in halves

                2 ------------------ large onions, sliced thin

              1tbs ---------------- ginger garlic paste

               to taste ------------  salt

               ½tbs ---------------  red chilli powder

              ½tbs ----------------- garam masala

              3cups ---------------- tomatoes, rough chopped and pureed

              ¼cup ----------------- coriander leaves chopped

     PROCEDURE

  •   In a large bowl add shelled, deveined, and cleaned prawns. Add rice flour, salt and turmeric powder slowly mix all the ingredients mixed with prawns. The flour mixture will almost stick like a batter to the prawns.

  •   Next heat 3tbs vegetable oil in a large frying pan. Fry those batter prawns  for just a few minutes. You just half-cook the prawns take out from pan and keep in a plate..

  •   In the same pan add 3-4tbs of oil. After oil gets heat add the cumin seeds. When cumin seeds splutter, add the green chillies, onions, and ginger garlic paste. Fry till the onions are browned. Add some salt to taste, cumin powder, and chilli powder. Now add the pureed tomatoes or (tomato mixture) and cook till gravy becomes thick and till oil is released, about 10–15 min. 

  •   Now its time to add the prawns to the gravy, and cook just a few minutes till the prawns are cooked through. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve pawn and tomato curry.
